Vegetable oils, grains, beans, sugars or fabricated foods of any kind are prohibited, as it is a primitive diet. When you have a look at history, you will see that all that kind of foods come after the paleolithic age. Before this age, these foods were not experimented by human being.
Grains and legumes are considered by primal dieters to be useful against health problems like autoimmune diseases beyond their nutritional value. The dieters do not forbid carbohydrates completely, but they should be reduced and supplied from fruits and vegetables.
Advantage of the Primal Diet
Vegetables and fruits are full of vitamins, nutrients and water. The fact that this diet includes so many of them, it a very good kind of diet. Besides, reducing intake of carbohydrates is a wise think if you want to lose flesh. Because you take them only from healthy foods. Including proteins and vegetables in large amount, this diets stands as a good way to lose weight.
Consumption of organic foods is another advantage of the primal diet. That makes it a healthier option. Big amount of hormones, antibiotics and chemicals has caused many illnesses among people and it is a problem of our age. So it is wise to consume any organic food.
Disadvantages of the Primal Diet
Eating unprocessed meat (raw meat) is not advocated by the diet, but it is seen as a part of the diet. But there is only anecdotal evidence that eating a raw meat is beneficial. So we do not recommend it.
